I need to replace an old wall light. I have the new light just need it to be safely installed.

We are currently re-decorating our living room and we have uncovered the wiring from a redundant picture/wall light above the fireplace. The wiring appears to have been capped off by the previous owner.We are therefore looking for an electrician to remove the wiring from the wall in order for us to skim the walls with plaster.
